Find out how you can personally contribute to protecting our oceans!

What is the Bravo for Oceans initiative?

At BravoCoupon, we decided to make our small but meaningful contribution to protecting our planet by launching the Bravo for Oceans initiative. Our goal is to finance the recovery of at least 1,000 kilograms of marine waste (plastic and other materials), which will be collected by local fishermen in different parts of the world.

This is made possible thanks to Ogyre, an international startup that works alongside local fishing communities to remove marine waste in Italy, Indonesia, and Brazil. Through this model, Ogyre not only helps preserve the beauty of our planet’s seas but also provides economic support to communities that are most affected by the degradation of marine ecosystems. With its solid experience and proven expertise, Ogyre is a world-class partner and the ideal ally to help us achieve our goal.

Bravo for Oceans: how can you take part?

Would you like to help us make the planet a little cleaner? It’s easy! By making purchases through BravoCoupon, you directly contribute to this important initiative and actively participate in the protection and preservation of our marine ecosystems.

Thanks to your support, we will be able to remove 2,500 kilograms of waste from the world’s seas. To put this into perspective, 2,500 kg of plastic is equivalent to approximately 250,000 plastic bottles.

Together, we can make the world a cleaner place!

Past events supporting the protection of our planet

Earth Day

Earth Day was established in 1989 thanks to peace activist John McConnell, who proposed the creation of an international day dedicated to Earth during a UNESCO conference in San Francisco.

Since then, it has been celebrated worldwide every year on April 22, with the aim of reaffirming the importance of natural balance and environmental sustainability, as well as highlighting the many issues that threaten our planet-such as pollution, the depletion of non-renewable resources, and the destruction of ecosystems.

World Cleanup Day

The global initiative known as World Cleanup Day was launched in 2018 by the Estonian NGO Let’s Do It! World and has since taken place annually on the third weekend of September.

The movement began in Estonia in 2008, thanks to entrepreneur Rainer Nõlvak, who managed to mobilize 4% of the country’s population to collect 10,000 tons of waste from illegal landfills in just a few hours. The initiative soon spread to Latvia, Lithuania, France, Italy, Portugal, and many other countries, leading to the official establishment of the first World Cleanup Day in 2018.

From 2008 to today, the goal has remained the same: to raise awareness of the dangers posed by abandoned solid waste through cleanup actions involving millions of volunteers worldwide.

World Environment Day

Every year since 1974, June 5 has been celebrated as World Environment Day, an initiative launched by the United Nations to raise public awareness about the importance of supporting environmental causes and to highlight the close connection between humanity and the natural environment.

The theme of 2023 focused on plastic pollution: over 400 million tons of plastic are produced each year, half of which is single-use. It is estimated that 19–23 million tons of plastic end up in rivers, lakes, and oceans annually, causing severe and often irreversible damage to marine ecosystems.

For this reason, now more than ever, it is essential to pay close attention to environmental protection and the preservation of our ecosystems.

World Oceans Day

The oceans cover more than 70% of the Earth’s surface, host 80% of global biodiversity, and produce over 50% of the oxygen in our atmosphere. Our oceans are therefore essential to the well-being and health of our planet, and their proper functioning is fundamental to our survival.

To raise awareness about the importance of protecting our seas, World Oceans Day was established. Celebrated every year on June 8, this event honors the beauty and richness of ocean waters and highlights the responsibility of public institutions, companies, and individuals to protect them.
